So what do the different terms mean – sativa, indica, and hybrid? Many new cannabis consumers don’t know, and that’s okay. We are here to help!
Let’s break them down based on the intended effect and symptom relief:
Indicas generally have a sedating, relaxing full-body effect (a body high). They are often used to help with insomnia, anxiety, and even pain.
Sativas generally have a more uplifting and cerebral effect (or a mind high), enhancing creativity and even productivity. They are commonly used for mood issues/depression, ADD, and fatigue.
Hybrids are exactly what they sound like, a more balanced blend of each of the above, used for both the body and mind.
But understand that these categories are not always perfectly descriptive of the actual effects. These two distinctions, sativa vs. indica, are actually more indicative of the look of the plant itself and how it grows.
